Evaluation of NOx emission models
In this project CMR assisted the client in evaluating different models predicting the NOx emissions of a number of burners and boilers.
There exist several models used to predict the NOx emission from various sources. These models depend on a number of input parameters and predict the NOx emissions with different precision levels.
In this project, the client wanted to evaluate and compare the performance of three different NOx emission models, on a number of different burners and boilers.
CMR did the following:
- performed a sensitivity analysis of each input parameters in each model
- calculated the model uncertainty from historical deviations between predicted emissions and reference measurements
- evaluated the effect of bias correction
- compared the performance of the different models based on the sensitivity analysis and the model uncertainty calculations
