Improving industrial safety performance in Vietnam
Vietnam has seen a dramatic increase in number of accidents and loss of containments which correlates to the strong industrial growth in the country. The recent agreements with Gexcon are part of the Government’s commitment to reduce the number of accidents and prevent injuries, fatalities and environmental emissions.
In June 2016, Gexcon entered into collaboration with the Industrial Safety Techniques and Environmental Agency (ISEA), who is subject to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam. ISEA is responsible for the technical safety and environmental protection in Vietnamese industry. They develop regulations and monitor compliance to ensure safe working conditions.
Gexcon will give ISEA access to the necessary technology, expertise and understanding to implement best practises within dispersion, fire and explosion safety and risk management.
- These agreements will strengthen our market position in the region and is a welcome recognition of our expertise and technology, says Sturle Pedersen, CEO of Gexcon.
- They secure our continued growth globally and is particularly important given today’s market situation, where most of our competitors are scaling down on their operations, he continues.
The two agreements include a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a framework agreement for consulting and training services. The MoU will be signed in an official ceremony at the Norwegian Embassy in Hanoi after summer.
