CMR Instrumentation focus on research and development of advanced measurement technologies for the fisheries and fish farming industries.
The main driver to provide these industries with new and advanced measurement technologies has been the development of a unique fish flow meter. This meter can measure fish being pumped onboard fishing vessels at more than 500 tons per hour. The fish flow meter provides a unique means to measure the weight of catches, improve the fish handling process and secure fish quality and welfare.
The meter is now commercially available from MMC Tendos (http://www.mmctendos.no/) with trademark MMC Fish Flow Meter.
In parallel with this development a number of additional technology gaps has been identified and focused.
Examples of some of our projects are:
- Feed sensor for fish farming
- Acoustics for abundance estimations
- Fish quality and welfare
